I'm not completely comfortable with the blog format yet. I set it up without too much trouble, but am still not sure about all the terminology and how it all works. Should I be labeling my posts? What does it mean to follow a blog? Should I be following someone else's blog? I guess I'll be discovering these things as I go.
I made an Avatar in Yahoo. It was fun--she's way skinnier than me, but that's the beauty of having a virtual self, no? I'm having trouble figuring out how to export her into the blog though. Guess, I'll contact my mentor.

Week 1, Things 1 & 2
Here goes my first experience with blogging--I've kept a private journal for years, but this idea of public writing is new for me.
I'm looking forward to completing the 23 things and learning how to use them with students. During week 1, I completed things 1 and 2. I also read Helene Blowers recent article in SLJ, "10 Tips about 23 Things." I'm hoping to follow her advice of "playing" on a regular basis, so that my discovering on the web and using Web 2.o technologies become routine.
The 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Effective Learners tutorial made me consider that as I begin the Web 2.0 course I should have an "end in mind." Is it enough of an "end" to want to complete the 23 things so that I'm more knowledgeable and comfortable using the newer web technologies? I also want to discover ways to use them with students because I know that kids are highly motivated by these kinds of tools.
